Regular Season Round 24: Pontoise - Vichy 73-70

A very close game took place in Cergy between Pontoise and JA Vichy. Fifteenth ranked Pontoise (8-16) got a very close home victory over higher ranked JA Vichy (15-9). Pontoise managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. JA Vichy was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of Pontoise, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was guard Alexandre Mendy (190-90) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Cameroonian guard Ralph Temgoua (196, college: St.Lawrence) chipped in 12 points. Pontoise's coach Ludovic Pouillart used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Octavio Da Silveira (204-89) who recorded 15 points and swingman Guillaume Pons (198-79) added 16 points respectively. Newly promoted Pontoise maintains fifteenth position with 8-16 record. Loser JA Vichy dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. Pontoise will meet league's leader Monaco on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JA Vichy will play against JSA Bordeaux (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
