Regular Season Round 18: SIG - Dunkerque 81-51

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked SIG (9-8) crushed 9th ranked Dunkerque (7-11) in llkirch-Graff. 81-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. SIG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Dunkerque to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.1 percent accuracy of the winners. SIG forced 19 Dunkerque turnovers. Dunkerque was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Celia Nadia Mauler (168-93) who led her team to a victory with 18 points. Forward Aline Fischbach (178-89) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four SIG players scored in double figures. SIG's coach Philippe Breitenbucher felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dace Pierre-joseph replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Taelor Karr (173-90, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dunkerque. SIG maintains sixth position with 9-8 record, which they share with LTB 29. Loser Dunkerque dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. SIG will face LTB 29 (#7) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round. Dunkerque will play at home against Charnay (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
