Regular Season Round 26: JX Sunflowers - Chanson V-M 72-56

Rather expected game in Kashiwa where 3rd ranked Chanson V-M (20-6) was defeated by first ranked JX Sunflowers (24-2) 72-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chanson V-M's 38. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and center Sugiyama Miyuki (196-94) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JX Sunflowers have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 24-2 record. Chanson V-M at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. JX Sunflowers will face again Chanson V-M (#4) in Shizuoka in the next round.
