LFB top team - Perfumerias Avenida (16-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Argon Uni Girona (9-9) 86-59. It looked good early as Argon Uni Girona took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Perfumerias Avenida had a 27-17 second period charge getting the lead and Argon Uni Girona was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-86. They outrebounded Argon Uni Girona 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Leonor Rodriguez Manso (180-91, college: Florida St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) supported her with 18 points. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by the former international power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) did not help to save the game for Argon Uni Girona. Greek swingman Olga Chatzinikolaou (181-81) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-2 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bembibre and Pais Vasco. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Cadi ICG S. (#8) in Seu D'urgell in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Argon Uni Girona will play on the road against Zamarat in Zamora and hopes to get back on the winning track.
