Regular Season Round 24: Treviglio - Proger BLS 74-61
Date: March 2, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Chieti (11-13) lost on the road to ninth ranked Treviglio (13-11) 74-61 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-61. Treviglio dominated on the defensive end, holding Chieti to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international center Emanuele Rossi (206-82) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Tommaso Marino (192-86) supported him with 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Treviglio players scored in double figures. Treviglio's coach Adriano Vertemati used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) did not help to save the game for Chieti. Forward Marco Cardillo (196-85) added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Treviglio moved-up to sixth place, which they share with P.Mantovana and Roseto. Loser Chieti keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Treviglio will meet higher ranked Casalpusterlengo (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chieti will play against Roseto (#6) and hope to secure a win.
