Regular Season Round 24: Roseto - Recanati 81-61
Date: March 2, 2014
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Roseto (13-11) rolled over at home 14th ranked Recanati (9-15) 81-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Roseto. Recanati managed to win third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Roseto had a 32-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Recanati's players. The winners were led by American guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU) who scored that evening 30 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Kevin Sowell (190-81, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 12 points and 5 assists. Sowell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Roseto players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by naturalized American power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Virginia) did not help to save the game for Recanati. American guard Daman Starring (190-88, college: Cal-Irvine) added 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Roseto maintains sixth position with 13-11 record, which they share with P.Mantovana and Treviglio. Recanati lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Roseto will meet Chieti (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Recanati will play against the league's second-placed Matera and hope to secure a win.
