Regular Season Round 24: Ferrara - Ravenna 83-74
Date: March 2, 2014
Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (15-9) defeated at home 8th ranked Ravenna (12-12) 83-74 on Sunday. Ravenna trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 27-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-83 at the end of the game. Naturhouse Ferrara made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Milton Jennings (206-90, college: Clemson, agency: Court Side) who scored that evening 28 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Julius Mays (188-89, college: Kentucky) supported him with 19 points. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St.) did not help to save the game for Ravenna. Forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ravenna's coach Lanfranco Giordani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Naturhouse Ferrara moved-up to third place, which they share with Omegna. Newly promoted Ravenna dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Naturhouse Ferrara will meet Reggio Calabr. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ravenna will play against the league's leader Agrigento and hope to secure a win.
