The game between second ranked Ragusa (17-2) and sixth ranked Venezia (10-8) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Ragusa was defeated by Venezia in a tough game in Venezia 57-62. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Ragusa. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 40-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Venezia forced 24 Ragusa turnovers. Strangely Ragusa outrebounded Venezia 39-27 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Venezia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Parma. Ragusa at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Venezia is looking forward to face La Spezia (#7) on the road in the next round. Ragusa will play against Umbertide (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
