The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Torino (4-1) on the court of fourth ranked Triestina on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Triestina 62-59. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Torino. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 30-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Stefania Trimboli (178-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Hungarian forward Anna Vida (185-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Triestina's coach Nevio Giuliani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Paola Montanaro (168-89) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Clara Salvini (180-92) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Torino. Four Torino players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Triestina maintains fourth place in Promotion Group A with 2-3 record, which they share with Milano. Torino at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third position with one game lost. Triestina is looking forward to face league's second-placed San Giovanni in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Torino will play at home against Udine and is hoping to win this game.
