No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Fos Ouest (17-15) crushed 14th ranked Nantes (12-20) in Fos-sur-Mer 96-65 on Sunday. The game without a history. Fos Ouest led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nantes' 42. Point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Nicolas Gayon (190-82) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Nantes. Five Fos Ouest and four Nantes players scored in double figures. Fos Ouest moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Poitiers and Hyeres-Toulon. Loser Nantes keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Fos Ouest will face higher ranked Le Portel (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nantes will play against Orchesien BC (#17) and hope to win that game.
