There was no surprise in Malmo where 7th ranked Polisen (3-7) was crushed by fourth ranked Malbas (5-5) 121-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Malbas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Polisen to just 6 points in second quarter. Malbas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Polisen's 34. Malbas forced 25 Polisen turnovers and outrebounded them 54-23 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Polisen's players. Australian guard John Fitzgerald (193-84, college: Lindsey Wilson) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alexander Nilsson (209-90) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Helge Olsson-Drebold (198-89) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Joel Porscke (191-91) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Malbas moved-up to third place, which they share with Trelleborg. Polisen lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
