There was no surprise in Katowice where 9th ranked Mickiewicz (7-14) was defeated by second ranked GTK Gliwice (18-3) 87-74 on Wednesday. Mickiewicz was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 29-14 charge of GTK Gliwice, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Mickiewicz turnovers. Mickiewicz was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and Artur Grygiel (187-88) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
