The game in Reykjavik supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Njardvik (12-8) played at the court of 8th ranked IR (8-12). Njardvik smashed IR 95-72 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of IR. The game without a history. Njardvik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Njardvik made 8 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Tracy Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds and international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Njardvik players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by the former international guard Sveinbjorn Claessen (195-86) did not help to save the game for IR. point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (191-93) added 18 points and 5 assists for the hosts.
