Rather expected game in Maracay where 7th ranked Guaros (6-8) were defeated by fifth ranked Toros (8-6) 101-92. Guaros were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 52-42 second half run of Toros. 26 personal fouls committed by Guaros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Dominican guard Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern CC) notched 17 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
