Regular Season Round 29: Vivo/Franca - Minas 84-65

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Vivo/Franca (12-14) crushed 14th ranked Minas (8-17) in Sao Paulo 84-65. It looked good early as Minas took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vivo/Franca had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Minas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-84. Vivo/Franca made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Leonardo Meindl (200-93) chipped in 15 points. Douglas Nunes (201-87) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Henrique Coelho (182-93) added 15 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vivo/Franca maintains tenth place with 12-14 record. Minas at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Vivo/Franca's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Espirito Santo (#17) in Vila Velha and are hoping to win another game. Minas will play on the road against Unitri in Uberlandia and hope to win that game.
