There was no surprise in Caracas where 10th ranked Panteras (1-13) were defeated by eighth ranked Gaiteros (5-7) 96-92. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 28-18 Panteras' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 96-92 at the end of the game. Gaiteros made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Dominican swingman Victor Liz (188-88) notched 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette) supported him with 25 points and 4 assists. Even 23 points by American point guard R.L. Horton (182-89, college: S.Mississippi) did not help to save the game for Panteras. The former international forward Juan Herrera (197-81) added 21 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Gaiteros have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 5-7 record. Panteras lost third consecutive game.
