The most exciting game of round 14 in the Superleague took place in Kutaisi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Kutaisi (9-4) to fifth ranked MIA (7-5) 81-78 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kutaisi. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when MIA made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Kutaisi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International guard Beqa Chikviladze (195-91) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashayev (188-83) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Five MIA and four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Kutaisi at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. MIA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kutaisi will play on the road against Olimpi in Tbilisi and is hoping to win this game.
