Important game to mention about took place in Thessaloniki. Twelfth ranked Ikaroi Serron (6-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Iraklis (9-10) 64-63 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-63. Ikaroi Serron forced 19 Iraklis turnovers. Strangely Iraklis outrebounded Ikaroi Serron 40-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. Forward Giannis Staboulis (197-90) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Serbian center Miroslav Cubrilo (205-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Efthimis Kothras (193-81) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Iraklis. Four Iraklis players scored in double figures. Iraklis' coach Dimitris Tsolakis let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ikaroi Serron maintains twelfth position with 6-13 record. Newly promoted Iraklis keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Ikaroi Serron will face higher ranked Filippos Veroias (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
