A2 round 18 most important game was a victory of Arkadikos over 8th ranked Filippos Veroias 69-56 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Filippos Veroias. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-56. Prodromou is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Arkadikos players scored in double figures. Forward Vassilis Kitsoulis (204-83) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Eugene Akepsimaidis (188-85) added 17 points in the effort for Filippos Veroias. Filippos Veroias' coach Dimitrios Gimas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arkadikos (10-9) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pagrati. Newly promoted Filippos Veroias dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Iraklis and Lavrio. Arkadikos is looking forward to face league's leader AEK Athens at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Filippos Veroias will play against Ikaroi Serron (#12) in Serres and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
