Regular Season Round 25: St Chamond - Montbrison 94-70

There was no surprise when 17th ranked Montbrison (5-20) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Saint Chamond (15-10) 94-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Montbrison was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Chamond shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) fired 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Saint Chamond's coach Alain Thinet felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. British guard Duke-Jermaine Forbes (186-80, college: W.Georgia) produced 19 points and 4 assists and American Keonta Howell (193-85, college: Toledo) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Saint Chamond and four Montbrison players scored in double figures. Saint Chamond maintains seventh place with 15-10 record. Montbrison lost their eleventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 20 games lost. Saint Chamond will face UB Chartres (#11) on the road in the next round. Montbrison will play against ADA Blois (#12) and hope to win that game.
