Regular Season Round 23: Znicz Basket - SIDEn Torun 63-72

1Liga top team - SIDEn Torun (20-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Znicz Basket (5-19) in Pruszkow 72-63. Znicz Basket trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 20-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 63-72 at the end of the game. SIDEn Torun looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (200-77) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. Aleks Perka (201-87, college: Rice) helped adding 18 points. Four SIDEn Torun players scored in double figures. Adam Linowski (201-87, agency: Promotex) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and Michal Aleksandrowicz (192-89) scored 13 points. SIDEn Torun maintains first place with 20-3 record. Znicz Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. SIDEn Torun are looking forward to face AZS PP (#12) in Poznan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Znicz Basket will play on the road against Spojnia in Stargard and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
