KK Hito can celebrate finally their first win this season after 26 consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Valga (5-20) 77-64. The game was mostly controlled by KK Hito. Valga was better in fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Valga's 26. They outrebounded Valga 47-34 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Joe Prophet (193, college: Westminster, MO) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). point guard Siim Laur (189-87) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kristjan Evart (192-90) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Spanish point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Valga. Four Valga players scored in double figures. KK Hito maintains ninth place with 1-26 record. It was Valga's fifth loss in a row. They keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. KK Hito will play against higher ranked Rapla (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valga will play against BC Rakvere and hopes to get back on the winning track.
