Fujitsu RW (#5) forced overtime, but falled to Toyota A. (#3) by four points 53-57 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. Fujitsu RW was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 15-9 charge of Toyota A., which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-9. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota A. made 7 blocks. The former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and international swingman Chinatsu Yamamoto (175-91) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Fujitsu RW's coach Yabuuchi Natsumi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toyota A.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Denso Iris. Loser Fujitsu RW dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Toyota A. will face Ebara Vickies (#11) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
