Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Dist.Olimpico and 10th ranked Tenerife had identical 5-11 record. But Tenerife was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Madrid 75-48 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Dist.Olimpico led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tenerife to just 7 points in second quarter. Dist.Olimpico forced 22 Tenerife turnovers. Tenerife was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Monica Garrido (185-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Maria Villar chipped in 17 points. point guard Laura Fernandez (172-89) produced 14 points and Cinthia Jorge Concepcion added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dist.Olimpico (6-11) moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Leganes and IF Air Europa. Tenerife lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Dist.Olimpico will face Barca CBS (#12) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tenerife will play on the road against Araski AES in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
