There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Chiba Jets (12-29) defeated on the road 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (5-35) 76-67. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 24-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Chris Braswell (206-89, college: Charlotte) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and the former international power forward Hiromasa Omiya (198-82) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Kumamoto V. in the defeat. Kumamoto V.'s coach Norman DeSilva let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba Jets maintains sixth place with 12-29 record which they share with defeated Kumamoto V. Kumamoto V. lost fourteenth consecutive game. Kumamoto V. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with 35 games lost. Chiba Jets' next round opponent will be league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
