An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jerusalem. Third ranked Maccabi Haifa faced their biggest opponent Hapoel Jerusalem. Guests from Haifa (15-7) defeated host Hapoel Jerusalem (17-5) 99-93. Hapoel Jerusalem was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 28-15 third quarter run of Maccabi Haifa. They shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Maccabi Haifa players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Moran Roth (182-82, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Maccabi Haifa's coach Danny Franco allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Ronald DuPree (201-81, college: LSU, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and international Lior Eliyahu (206-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Five Maccabi Haifa and four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost.
