No shocking result in a game in Kawasaki where second ranked Toyota A. (24-5) smashed 5th ranked Fujitsu RW (20-9) 81-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Fujitsu RW was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Toyota A. outrebounded Fujitsu RW 38-24 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Toyota A. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was center Mori Binge (180-88) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) chipped in 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-5 record having just three points less than leader JX Sunflowers. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Toyota A. will face Aishin Wings (#9) in Anjo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujitsu RW will play on the road against Niigata (#8) in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
