There was no surprise when 12th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-18) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (14-8) 86-82 on Monday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-11. But Maccabi Ashdod won second period 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. American guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) scored 27 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Kenny Hayes (188-87, college: Miami, OH, agency: Priority Sports) scored 26 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-8 record. Loser Maccabi Ashdod stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost.
