There was no surprise in Beirut where 9th ranked Bejjeh (2-9) was crushed by second ranked Al Riyadi (9-2) 83-59. The game without a history. Al Riyadi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Al Riyadi brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Ali Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Jonathon Avery (201-88, college: IUPUI, agency: Gamble Sports Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Joel Box (206-84, college: Quincy) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Bejjeh in the defeat. Five Al Riyadi and four Bejjeh players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Amchit. Bejjeh at the other side keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
