Regular Season Round 21: KR - Valur 101-78

Dominos League top team - KR (20-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Valur (1-20) in Reykjavik 101-78. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KR outrebounded Valur 45-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Valur's players. The best player for the winners was international Martin Hermannsson (192-94) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists. American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds. Four KR players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) who recorded a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Oddur Olafsson (180-92, college: Birm.Southern) added 7 points and 8 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-1 record. Valur lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 20 lost games. KR will meet Haukar (#5) in the next round. Valur will play against KFI (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
