Very expected game in Isafjordur where 11th ranked KFI (4-17) was crushed by seventh ranked Stjarnan (10-12) 107-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. KFI was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to KFI's 42 and made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while KFI only scored ten points from the stripe. Stjarnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. KFI was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. KFI's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Stjarnan. They maintain seventh place with 10-12 record. KFI lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Stjarnan will face higher ranked Njardvik (#4) in Njardvik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KFI will play on the road against Valur (#12) in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
