Regular Season Round 45: Shiga L-Stars - Bambitious Nara 84-78
Date: March 15, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (12-27) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (22-19) 84-78 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 47-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bambitious Nara was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Shelton Colwell (202-80, college: Missouri St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) chipped in 21 points. Shiga L-Stars' coach Chris Boettcher used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and guard Joe Chapman (193-84, college: Marquette, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 10 points and 7 assists. Four Shiga L-Stars and five Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains fourth place with 22-19 record. Bambitious Nara lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 27 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face again Bambitious Nara (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
