There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Aomori Watts (19-20) were outplayed on the road by eighth ranked Yokohama BC (18-21) 80-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Yokohama BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori Watts' 34. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield, agency: Norton Sports Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Dutch-American power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-80, college: Binghamton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) scored 4 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC maintains eighth place with 18-21 record. Loser Aomori Watts keep the sixth position with 20 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again higher ranked Aomori Watts (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
