There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (8-13) beat at home 7th ranked AGOR (8-13) 75-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aiolos Trikallon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to AGOR's 22. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized American center Steve Panos (206-88, college: Weber St.) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import point guard Derek Wright (179-86, college: Austin Peay St.) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aiolos Trikallon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with AGOR and Aris. Aiolos Trikallon will face higher ranked Apollon Patras (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
