The game between third ranked Gran Canaria (12-8) and 9th ranked Cadi ICG S. (8-12) in Las Palmas on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Gran Canaria outscored guests from Seu D'urgell 89-61. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. Cadi ICG S. managed to win fourth quarter 25-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gran Canaria made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Gran Canaria outrebounded Cadi ICG S. 44-17 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by naturalized Senegalese center Astou Ndour (198-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds and American guard Brittany Chambers (173-91, college: Kansas St.) supported her with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Cadi ICG S.. Portuguese center Sofia Silva (187-90) added 13 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria maintains third position with 12-8 record having four points less than leader Perfumerias. Loser Cadi ICG S. keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Conquero. Gran Canaria will meet at home league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cadi ICG S. will play against Jopisa Burgos (#5) and hope to secure a win.
