Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Dunkerque (7-13) was outplayed on the road by tenth ranked Reims (8-11) 88-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Reims led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dunkerque's 22. They outrebounded Dunkerque 44-33 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Reims looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 19 points. Five Reims players scored in double figures. Reims' coach Guillaume Rassineux felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dace Pierre-joseph produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American guard Taelor Karr (173-90, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Reims moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Pays d'Aix. Dunkerque lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Reims will face higher ranked LTB 29 (#4) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dunkerque will play at home against the league's second-placed Roche (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
