Regular Season Round 31: JX Sunflowers - Ebara Vickies 81-62

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (28-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Ebara Vickies (4-26) in Kashiwa 81-62. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ebara Vickies' 18. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 47-28 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. JX Sunflowers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. International forward Mikoto Onuma (174-93) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) came up with 22 points and Arisa Takagi (168-89) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for Ebara Vickies in the defeat. JX Sunflowers have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 28-2 record. Loser Ebara Vickies keep the eleventh position with 26 games lost. JX Sunflowers will again meet Ebara Vickies (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ebara Vickies will have a break next round.
