Regular Season Round 31: Mitsubishi K. - Toyota B SR 54-56

The most exciting game of round 31 in the WJBL took place in Nagoya. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Mitsubishi K. (18-12) to seventh ranked Toyota B SR (13-17) 56-54 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 56-54. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eri Hatanaka (178-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Yoshie Watanabe (162-86) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Yuki Ikeya (174-93) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mitsubishi K.Toyota B SR have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 13-17 record. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Toyota B SR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mitsubishi K. will play again on the road against Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
