Very predictable result when first ranked Brindisi (4-2) won against at home 6th ranked Viterbo (1-5) 71-53 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Brindisi. Viterbo was better in fourth quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brindisi forced 23 Viterbo turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Viola Diodati (172-91) who led her team to a victory with 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Marzia Tagliamento (179-96) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Czech center Martina Rejchova (195-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and swingman Chiara Serafini (175-94) added 11 points and 5 steals in the effort for Viterbo. Newly promoted Brindisi maintains first position in Relegation Group B with 4-2 record, which they share with Crema. Viterbo lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Brindisi will face Civitanova (#5) in Civitanova Marche in the next round. Viterbo will play at home against Salerno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
