There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Napoli S.Dike (3-3) lost at home to seventh ranked Ancona (1-4) 58-52 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 58-52. Ancona dominated on the defensive end, holding Napoli S.Dike to just 4 points in second quarter. It was a good game for guard Carola Sordi (181-82) who led her team to a victory with 17 points. Estonian forward Viive Kai Rebane (183-89, college: Binghamton) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Sara Bocchetti (175-93) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Napoli S.Dike. Ancona maintains seventh position in Promotion Group B with 1-4 record. It was Napoli S.Dike's third loss in a row. They keep the fourth place with three games lost. Ancona will face league's second-placed Irpino in Ariano Irpino in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Napoli S.Dike will play at home against Meccanica NB and hope to win that game.
