Second Stage Round 6: Biassono - Valmadrera 51-64

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Valmadrera (3-3) beat on the road bottom-ranked Biassono (0-6) 64-51 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-51. Valmadrera made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Biassono turnovers. It was a good game for guard Claudia Bussola (171-84) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Sara Canova (174-89) contributed with 14 points and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Federica Sallustio (171-95) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Alessia Colombo (182-93) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Biassono. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valmadrera maintains fourth position in Relegation Group A with 3-3 record, which they share with Cagliari V. Loser Biassono still closes the standings with six games lost. Valmadrera will face league's leader San Salvatore at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Biassono will play against the league's second-placed Cagliari A. (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
