Second Stage Round 9: Uppsala KFUM - LF Future 83-88

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed KFUM Uppsala (6-3) was defeated at home by sixth ranked LF Future (3-6) 88-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 15 points at the halftime before their 56-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. LF Future dominated on the defensive end, holding KFUM Uppsala to just 5 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was guard Erik Edin (185-91) who scored 34 points (!!!). Forward Emanuel Lindback (199-91) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Simon Ezra (197-94) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jakob Merlenius (182-95) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Five KFUM Uppsala players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. LF Future maintains sixth place with 3-6 record, which they share with 08. KFUM Uppsala lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second position with three games lost. LF Future will face higher ranked Akropol (#5) in Stockholm in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KFUM Uppsala will play on the road against the league's second-placed Taby Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
