Very predictable result when sixth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (13-10) won against 11th ranked Bnei Hasharon (6-17) in Nes Ziyona 75-66 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bnei Hasharon won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ironi Nes-Ziona won last quarter 20-12. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Romanian Dan Grunfeld (198-84, college: Stanford) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bnei Hasharon in the defeat. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona maintains sixth place with 13-10 record. Bnei Hasharon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona will meet higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Holon (#7) and hope to secure a win.
