An interesting game took place in Orvieto where 8th ranked San Martino (4-15) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Orvieto (5-14) 83-60 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 23 points. Orvieto dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to San Martino's 32. The best player for the winners was American swingman Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA, agency: Merit Management Group) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Orvieto moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted San Martino dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Cagliari CUS. Orvieto will meet league's leader Familia Schio on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Martino will play against Umbertide (#4) and hope to secure a win.
