An interesting game for Valencia Basket (20-3) which hosted in Valencia 4th placed Unicaja Malaga (15-8). Second ranked Valencia Basket managed to get a 8-point victory 91-83. The former international guard Rafael Martinez (191-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (188-89) answered with 19 points and 9 assists and Slovenian swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Unicaja Malaga. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 20-3 record having just three points less than leader Real Madrid. Unicaja Malaga at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Valencia Basket are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Blancos de Rueda (#18) in Valladolid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Unicaja Malaga will play at home against FIATC Joventut (#9) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
