Regular Season Round 12: Sagesse - Moutahed 99-81

An interesting game for Sagesse (9-3) which hosted in Beirut one of their biggest challengers Al Moutahed (8-4). Third ranked Sagesse had an easy win 99-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Moutahed. Al Moutahed was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 58-38 second half run of Sagesse. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian power forward Julian Khazzouh (209-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Sagesse players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Sagesse moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Riyadi. Al Moutahed at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Byblos. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Al Riyadi.
