Rather predictable result in Tokyo where third ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (22-21) defeated 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (17-26) 73-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Mitsubishi Dolphins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Mitsubishi Dolphins especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was a great evening for Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Bahamas power forward Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains third place with 22-21 record having thirteen points less than leader Aishin SH. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fifth position with 26 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Wakayama T. and hope to win that game.
