Regular Season Round 25: Upea CdO - CZG Veroli 75-59

There was no surprise in Capo d'Orlando where 7th ranked CZG Veroli (13-12) was defeated by second ranked Upea CdO (17-8) 75-59. It looked good early as CZG Veroli took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Upea CdO had a 17-10 second period charge getting the lead and CZG Veroli was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-75. Upea CdO forced 21 CZG Veroli turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Marco Portannese (192-89) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St.) added 14 points in the effort for CZG Veroli. Upea CdO maintains second place with 17-8 record having just -1 point less than leader Trento. CZG Veroli at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Lighthouse TR and FCM Ferentino. Upea CdO will play against Pallacanestro Triest (#13) in Trieste in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CZG Veroli will play at home against PMS Torino (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
