Second Stage Round 6: Ferrara - Civitanova 70-58

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Civitanova (3-3) lost on the road to fifth ranked Ferrara (3-3) 70-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Civitanova was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferrara forced 21 Civitanova turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Chiara Mini (165-86) who led her team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Power forward Anna Denti (185-83) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Silvia Passon (182-85) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Federica Iannucci (172-93) added 12 points in the effort for Civitanova. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ferrara have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Relegation Group B, which they share with Civitanova and Salerno. Ferrara will face league's second-placed Team Crema on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Civitanova will play against the league's leader Brindisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
