Regular Season Round 23: AV Cantu - Enel Brindisi 84-69

An interesting game for Cantu (16-7) which hosted in Cantu second-ranked Enel Brindisi (16-7). Third ranked Cantu had an easy win 84-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Enel Brindisi. The game was mostly controlled by Cantu. Enel Brindisi was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. His fellow American import forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Cantu's coach Stefano Sacripanti allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American Ron Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. Cantu moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Enel Brindisi. Cantu will play against Juvecaserta (#8) in Caserta in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Enel Brindisi will play at home against Granarolo BO (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
